During the 2007/08 Season I played my rugby for the Al Khobar Quins in Saudi Arabia. There were two other teams in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh Skorpions and Jeddah. Once I had made a website for Khobar Quins I typically started pestering the other two teams – to no avail. However, a very long and drawn out pestering later …. the new guy at Jeddah folded and gave me a chance, the result was a great looking website with a new ‘polished’ badge.

We created a great website for the Falcons but Laurence wanted to take it up another gear and gave me complete freedom to go as mad as I wanted – so I did. TOA Dubai’s website still stands out in our portfolio as a completely different website.

Tiverton Rugby Club are the oldest Rugby club in Devon – Founded in 1868 and many regulars in the bar still remember that inaugural season …. honestly. I’m only kidding, but they were a hard club to get hooked up to the whole wide eyed web idea, believe me.

I was introduced to Tauranga Sports by a Kiwi called Mike Rogers. Mike runs a business called ‘Inside Running’ that places players with clubs all over the wold and now runs an academy too. Tauranga remain our only club in New Zealand but we are always looking for more – if you’re out there??

The Khobar Quins are a very important team to me personally and to RuckinRugby. They formed from formed from the merger of players from Al-Khobar Eagles and Khamis Mushayt Quins in 2007, the year I arrived in Saudi Arabia with my family having played no rugby for 8 years.

Laurence already had a logo that had been professionally designed by a South African guy called John Cooper who is immensely talented and I have kept his contact in my pocket ever since. We just needed to take that, a handful of glamourous lady rugby players, the colours of the UAE flag … and make a website – easy.
